LightSync Pro Support FAQ | Sync Cloud Images & AI to WordPress + Shopify

LightSync Pro Support FAQs

General

What cloud platforms does LightSync Pro support?

LightSync Pro supports Adobe Lightroom, Figma, Dropbox, Shutterstock, and AI image generation via OpenRouter. Canva is built and currently awaiting final API approval from Canva. Looking for OneDrive or Google Drive support? See Syncific — our standalone web app — which includes expanded source support plus multi-site distribution.

What destinations can I sync to?

LightSync Pro syncs from your connected cloud sources to a single WordPress site and a single Shopify store.
  • WordPress — Images sync to your Media Library
  • Shopify — Images sync to Shopify Files
If you need to distribute to multiple sites or to other CMS platforms (HubSpot, Contentful, Webflow), see Syncific below.

What’s the difference between LightSync Pro and Syncific?

Both products are built on the same patent-pending broker architecture, but they serve different users: LightSync Pro is the WordPress plugin — installed on a single WordPress site, it connects creative cloud sources to that site’s Media Library and (optionally) one Shopify store. Five sources available today: Lightroom, Figma, Dropbox, Shutterstock, and AI Generate. Syncific is the standalone web app — no plugin required. Adds OneDrive and Google Drive to the source library, and distributes to unlimited sites across five CMS platforms: WordPress, Shopify, HubSpot, Contentful, and Webflow. Built for agencies, franchises, and enterprise teams. If you’re running one WordPress site and your sources are Lightroom, Figma, Dropbox, or Shutterstock, LightSync Pro is the right product. If you need OneDrive or Google Drive support, or if you publish to multiple sites or platforms, Syncific is built for that workflow.

How does LightSync Pro connect to cloud platforms?

Each platform uses secure OAuth 2.0 authentication. You authorize LightSync Pro through the platform’s official login page. Your passwords are never stored or accessible to LightSync Pro. All OAuth credentials are held by our patented broker architecture — never in your WordPress database.

Does LightSync Pro store my images?

No—never. Images transfer directly from your cloud platform to WordPress or Shopify. AI-generated images are created via OpenRouter and saved directly to your WordPress Media Library. Nothing passes through or stays on LightSync Pro servers.

Will updating images break my existing galleries or pages?

No. LightSync Pro uses non-destructive syncing, updating images in place while preserving existing URLs, galleries, and layouts.

What formats are imported into WordPress?

LightSync Pro imports rendered images into the WordPress Media Library and generates WordPress thumbnails. WebP conversion is supported on all plans, and AVIF conversion is available on Pro+ and Agency plans. AI-generated images go through the same optimization pipeline.

Does LightSync Pro work with page builders (Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, etc.)?

Yes. Once images are in the native WordPress Media Library, they work with any theme, gallery, or page builder.

Connecting to Adobe Lightroom

How do I connect LightSync Pro to Adobe Lightroom?

Go to LightSync Pro → Connections → Connect to Adobe. You’ll be redirected to Adobe’s secure login page to approve access. Once approved, you’ll be returned to WordPress and your account will be securely linked.

Why do I have to log back into Adobe sometimes?

Adobe access tokens can expire due to security rotation, inactivity, or changes on Adobe’s side. LightSync Pro refreshes tokens automatically whenever possible, but in rare cases Adobe requires a one-time reconnect.

Does LightSync Pro store my Adobe password?

No—never. Authentication runs through Adobe OAuth 2.0, and LightSync Pro only receives secure access tokens controlled by Adobe.

Can multiple WordPress sites connect to the same Adobe account?

Yes. Multiple WordPress sites (each running their own LightSync Pro installation) can connect to the same Adobe account. Syncing the same album to multiple sites may increase Adobe API usage, and automation settings are configured per site.

Does LightSync Pro access my entire Lightroom account?

No. LightSync Pro only uses the scopes you approve—such as reading albums and images and accessing rendered renditions. It cannot delete or modify anything in your Adobe account.

Will my Lightroom edits carry over to WordPress?

Yes. LightSync Pro imports the final edited version of each image—exactly as it appears in Lightroom.

Connecting to Figma

How do I connect LightSync Pro to Figma?

Go to LightSync Pro → Connections → Connect to Figma. You’ll be redirected to Figma’s authorization page. Once approved, your Figma projects will be available to sync.

What Figma content can I sync?

LightSync Pro syncs exportable frames from your Figma projects. Organize frames you want to sync into dedicated pages or use naming conventions for easy selection.

Does LightSync Pro access my entire Figma account?

No. LightSync Pro only reads project and frame data you authorize. It cannot modify or delete anything in your Figma account.

Can I sync from multiple sources to the same WordPress site?

Yes. LightSync Pro supports multiple cloud connections simultaneously. You can sync Lightroom albums, Figma projects, Dropbox folders, Shutterstock licensed images, and AI-generated images to the same WordPress Media Library.

Connecting to Dropbox

How do I connect LightSync Pro to Dropbox?

Go to LightSync Pro → Connections → Connect to Dropbox. You’ll be redirected to Dropbox’s authorization page. Once approved, you can browse your folders and select images to sync.

Can Dropbox detect updated files?

Yes. LightSync Pro checks for files modified since the last sync using Dropbox’s “Updated since sync” detection, so only changed images are re-pulled.

Can I auto-import new files from Dropbox?

Yes. On Pro+ and Agency plans, you can designate hot folders that automatically watch for new images and import them on a configurable schedule.

Does LightSync Pro access my entire Dropbox account?

No. LightSync Pro only reads files and folders you authorize. It cannot delete or modify anything in your Dropbox account.

What file types can I sync from Dropbox?

LightSync Pro supports standard image formats (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF) as well as RAW files (NEF, CR2, ARW, DNG) with automatic JPEG conversion.

Connecting to Shutterstock

How do I connect LightSync Pro to Shutterstock?

Go to LightSync Pro → Connections → Connect to Shutterstock. You’ll be redirected to Shutterstock’s authorization page. Once approved, your licensed images will be available to sync.

What Shutterstock content can I sync?

LightSync Pro syncs images you’ve licensed through your Shutterstock account. The licensed image browser shows thumbnails with sync status so you can select what to push to WordPress and Shopify.

Can I auto-sync new Shutterstock licenses?

Yes. On Pro+ and Agency plans, LightSync Pro can automatically detect and sync newly licensed images on a configurable schedule — no manual imports required.

Does Shutterstock handle Shopify’s image size limits?

Yes. LightSync Pro automatically resizes images that exceed Shopify’s 25MP limit before uploading, so you don’t hit errors on large licensed files.

Connecting to Canva

When will Canva be available?

Canva integration is built and ready. We’re currently awaiting final API approval from Canva. Once approved, you’ll be able to sync designs directly from Canva to WordPress and Shopify with the same broker architecture as all other sources.

Does LightSync Pro access my entire Canva account?

No. LightSync Pro uses the Canva Connect API and only reads design data you authorize. It cannot delete or modify anything in your Canva account.

Need OneDrive or Google Drive?

Can I connect OneDrive to LightSync Pro?

OneDrive is not currently available in the LightSync Pro WordPress plugin. It is available in Syncific, our standalone web app, which includes expanded source support (OneDrive, Google Drive) plus multi-site distribution.

Can I connect Google Drive to LightSync Pro?

Google Drive is not currently available in the LightSync Pro WordPress plugin. It is available in Syncific, our standalone web app, where the integration is built and awaiting final API verification from Google.

AI Image Generation

How does AI Image Generation work?

Connect your OpenRouter account via LightSync Pro → AI Generate → Connect OpenRouter. Type a prompt, choose a model (Flux, DALL-E, Gemini, Stable Diffusion, Recraft, Ideogram, and more), and generate. Images are automatically optimized (WebP/AVIF) and saved to your WordPress Media Library — the same pipeline as every other cloud source.

What AI models are available?

LightSync Pro connects to OpenRouter, which provides access to dozens of image generation models including both free and paid options. Model costs are displayed in real-time before you generate, so there are no surprises.

Does AI generation cost money?

Many models are free. Paid models are billed through your OpenRouter account — typically $0.01–$0.04 per image. LightSync Pro shows a cost badge with estimates before you generate. You pay OpenRouter directly via their credit system.

Can I use a reference image?

Yes. Select any image from your WordPress Media Library as a visual style guide. Multimodal models like Gemini will use it to match style, composition, and mood. Image-only models (Flux, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, etc.) generate from the text prompt alone — the cost badge indicates when a reference will be ignored.

Can I roll back to a previous AI-generated version?

Yes. Every regeneration automatically backs up the previous version. You can view your full version history and roll back to any previous generation with one click. No image data is ever lost.

Can I sync AI images to Shopify?

Yes. AI-generated images use the same sync pipeline as all other cloud sources. You can push them to WordPress, Shopify, or both.

How is AI Generate different from AI & Tools?

AI Generate creates new images from text prompts using OpenRouter models (Flux, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, Gemini, Recraft, Ideogram, and more). AI & Tools (formerly “AI Insights”) analyzes your existing images using OpenAI or Anthropic Claude for alt text suggestions, quality scoring, hero picking, visual analysis, and A/B performance testing. They’re complementary features — generate new images with one, analyze and optimize your whole library with the other.

Does LightSync Pro handle naming and alt text for AI images?

Yes. AI-generated images support dedicated naming tokens including {prompt_short}, {prompt}, {model}, {aspect_ratio}, {date}, and {sequence} — configured in the AI Naming panel with a live preview.

Connecting to Shopify

How do I connect LightSync Pro to Shopify?

Go to LightSync Pro → Shopify → Connect Shopify Store. Enter your store domain and authorize the app. Images will sync to Shopify Files.

What Shopify plan do I need?

Any active Shopify store works. You’ll need store owner or staff permissions with Files access.

Can I sync to both WordPress and Shopify?

Yes. Select your sync target (WordPress, Shopify, or both) when running a sync. LightSync Pro supports one WordPress site and one Shopify store per installation — if you need to distribute to multiple stores or sites, see Syncific.

Multi-Site Distribution (Syncific)

What if I need to sync to multiple sites?

LightSync Pro is a single-site plugin. For multi-site distribution — pushing images from your creative cloud sources to multiple WordPress sites, Shopify stores, HubSpot accounts, Contentful spaces, or Webflow projects — use Syncific, our standalone web app. Syncific shares the same broker architecture and adds OneDrive and Google Drive to the source library. No plugin installation required on destination sites.

Does Syncific require LightSync Pro?

No. Syncific is a completely separate product. You don’t need LightSync Pro installed anywhere to use Syncific — it operates directly against your CMS destinations via their native APIs.

What plans are available for Syncific?

Syncific offers three plans:
  • Solo: For individual creators and small teams distributing to their own sites
  • Agency: For agencies managing multiple client sites with workspace separation
  • Max: For enterprise teams with unlimited sites, workspaces, and advanced controls

Albums, Projects & Folders

Why aren’t all my Lightroom albums showing?

This is usually caused by albums still loading, a temporary token issue, or albums that contain images that haven’t finished rendering yet. Refreshing the album list or reconnecting typically resolves it.

Why do some albums, projects, or folders appear empty?

Albums can appear empty when images haven’t completed cloud rendering. For Lightroom, this happens while Adobe processes edits. For Figma, ensure frames are exportable and not hidden. For Dropbox, check that the folder contains supported image formats. LightSync Pro will detect images on the next refresh or sync.

Why are some images missing or unavailable?

Cloud platforms must finish generating renditions before LightSync Pro can import them. Images may be unavailable right after uploading or editing, when files are large, or while servers are still processing. LightSync Pro retries automatically until images become available.

Syncing & Auto-Sync

How do I manually sync?

Click Sync Now on the LightSync Pro dashboard, choose the album, project, or folder, select your destination (WordPress, Shopify, or both), and LightSync Pro will begin importing immediately.

What happens during a sync?

LightSync Pro checks for new or updated images, pulls rendered files from your cloud platform (or generates via AI), imports them into WordPress Media Library and/or Shopify Files, converts images to WebP or AVIF (on supported plans), applies SEO naming and alt text patterns, and logs progress through completion.

Why does sync skip certain images?

Images may be skipped if they haven’t finished rendering, the platform throttles API calls, a file is inaccessible, or cloud sync isn’t complete on the source side. Skipped images are retried automatically on future syncs.

What is Auto-Sync?

Auto-Sync (available on Pro+ and Agency plans) checks your connected cloud platforms on a schedule for new or updated images, then imports them automatically once they’re ready. Works across Lightroom, Figma, Dropbox, Shutterstock, and (once API approval is complete) Canva.

How often does auto-sync run?

On supported plans, Auto-Sync can run every 15 minutes, 30 minutes, hourly, every 6 hours, twice daily, or daily. The interval is configurable per album, project, or folder.

Does auto-sync run if I close my browser?

Yes. Auto-Sync runs through WordPress Cron and does not require your browser to remain open.

Performance & Limits

How many images can I sync at once?

LightSync Pro supports syncing large albums containing hundreds or thousands of images. Actual performance depends on your hosting environment, PHP memory limits, and cloud platform API behavior.

What plans are available for LightSync Pro?

LightSync Pro offers three plans, each installed on a single WordPress site:
  • Free: Unlimited manual sync
  • Pro+: Unlimited auto-sync & manual sync, advanced features, and WebP/AVIF optimization
  • Agency: Everything in Pro+ plus 5 individual site licenses
For multi-site distribution, OneDrive, or Google Drive support, see Syncific (standalone).

Will syncing slow down my website?

LightSync Pro processes work in small batches and uses background jobs to avoid blocking visitor requests. Larger syncs can temporarily increase server activity but typically won’t affect visitor experience.

Security & Privacy

Is my cloud account data secure?

Yes. LightSync Pro uses a patented broker architecture (U.S. Patent Application No. 19/440,404) where OAuth credentials are held securely by the broker — never stored in your WordPress database. Only encrypted access tokens are used, and passwords are never stored or accessible.

Is LightSync Pro GDPR compliant?

Yes. The LightSync Pro plugin does not track your site visitors, inject analytics scripts, or collect data from your WordPress installation. Images transfer directly from your cloud platform to your site without passing through our servers. Our marketing website (lightsyncpro.com) uses standard analytics tools to understand how visitors find and use the site, consistent with industry practice and our Privacy Policy. We do not sell customer data to third parties.

Does AI Image Generation send my data to third parties?

When you use AI Generate, your text prompt (and optionally a reference image) is sent directly from your server to OpenRouter’s API. This data is not proxied through LightSync Pro’s broker. No data is sent unless you explicitly generate an image.

Plans, Billing & Updates

Do I need a license key?

A license key is used to enable automatic updates, receive new features, and access support for Pro+ and Agency plans.

What happens after I purchase?

After Stripe confirms payment, a license key is generated automatically and emailed to the address used at checkout. Your subscription becomes active immediately.

What happens if I cancel or my subscription expires?

Your existing images remain in WordPress and Shopify and continue working normally. Automation, updates, and support are paused until the subscription is renewed. AI-generated images you’ve already created remain in your Media Library.

Troubleshooting

My albums, projects, or folders are not loading — what should I do?

Try refreshing, reconnecting your cloud account, and clearing any caching plugin that may interfere. Also ensure your PHP memory limit is at least 512 MB.

Sync shows “Failed” — why?

Common causes include unrendered images, expired tokens, server timeouts, duplicate conflicts, or temporary API errors. Many cases resolve automatically on the next sync.

Why is the sync taking a long time?

Large files, very large albums, slower hosting, and platform rate limiting can all increase sync time. LightSync Pro processes images in batches to prevent overload.

Can I cancel a sync while it’s running?

Sync jobs run in the background unless you intentionally stop them. If stopped mid-run, remaining images will be picked up on the next sync attempt.

Why do newly edited images not show immediately?

Cloud platforms need time to render the final version. Once rendering completes, LightSync Pro detects the update on the next sync cycle.

AI generation failed — what should I do?

Check that your OpenRouter account is connected and has available credits (for paid models). If using a reference image with an image-only model, the reference is automatically skipped — this is normal. Try a different model or simplify your prompt if generation consistently fails.

Advanced Questions

Does LightSync Pro support filtering?

Album-based, project-based, and folder-based filtering is supported, allowing you to control what syncs by organizing images into specific albums, Figma pages, or Dropbox folders. In the Media Library, you can filter by source (Lightroom, Figma, Dropbox, Shutterstock, AI Generate, or any LightSync image).

Can I re-sync or rebuild thumbnails?

On supported plans, you can re-pull images, rebuild WordPress thumbnails, and re-run WebP or AVIF conversion when needed.

Can I use AI-generated images as products in WooCommerce?

Yes. AI-generated images are saved to the standard WordPress Media Library, so they can be used as product images in WooCommerce just like any other media.
